Summit Training Post is a non-for-profit organization that was developed out of an awareness of the poverty and devastation of the Native American people. Since my first trip to the Navajo Reservation in 1996, I have been developing relationship with the Navajo people in order to understand their real need. I have discovered that addiction, gang violence and the suicide rate among Native Americans is the highest of all ethnic groups in the USA.

There is hopelessness among these people, born out of living in conditions akin to those of third world countries. I believe that the real need requiring an immediate response on the Navajo Nation is a way for the people to climb out of the pit of poverty in which they presently find themselves. The stairway leading to self-sufficiency is built on educational and vocational training.

We desire to bring hope to the Navajo Nation through training programs. By equipping the people with the skills for greater success, SUMMIT TRAINING POST hopes to bring restored and revitalized life to the communities in which they live. Our programs will prepare students to be self-supporting, increasing their employability and preparing them for successful business ownership.

STP is the home of Summit School of Ministry and Performing Arts, World Wide Window Media Group and a multi-media art studio where all the creativity and skill of the Native American people can be highlighted, shared and experienced. With a desire to be a central gathering place, SUMMIT TRAINING POST will open the barred doors of the past onto an incredibly bright future on the Reservation.

A prototype for future training facilities on Native American Reservations throughout the country, SUMMIT TRAINING POST was born out of a vision to "empower a people for purpose" by restoring their self respect and returning them to self sufficiency with a hope for the future.
